The Super Eagles remained in 39th spot in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday, Afrosport reports.

Nigeria played Benin and Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers earlier this month, beating the former 3-0 in Uyo while playing a goalless draw with the latter in Kigali.

The Eagles also remain also sixth place in the African rankings are behind Morocco who occupy 14th in the world, Senegal (21st in the world), Egypt (31st in the world), Ivory Coast (33rd in the world) and Tunisia (36th in the world).

The three-time African champions’ next assignment is an AFCON 2025 qualification Group D double header against Libya on October 11 and 15 before wrapping things up against Benin and Rwanda in November.
