Mikel Merina scored in extra-time as Spain reached the semi-finals of the Euro 2024 after beating hosts Germany 2-1 in their quarter-final clash on Friday.
Dani Olmo put La Roja ahead in the 51st minute at the Stuttgart Arena after receiving a pass from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal.
Bayern Leverkusen midfielder, Florian Wirtz then forced extra time with a composed finish in the 89th minute, courtesy of a pass from Joshua Kimmich.
With the penalty shootout in sight, Mikel Merina broke the heart of the Germans as he rose highest in the box and headed in the winner in the 119th minute.

Spain will now meet the winne of Friday’s other quarter final between France and Euro 2016 winners, Portugal in the semi final.
