Los Angeles Lakers star and 20-time All-Star LeBron James took history-making to another height on Saturday night as he became the first player in NBA history to reach 40,000 career points.
The 39-year-old, who currently has 40,017 career points, reached the 40,000 mark with 10:39 left to play in the second quarter of the Lakers’ 114-124 defeat to the Denver Nuggets at the Crypto.com Arena.
Following this breathtaking achievement, NBA stars past and present, as well as basketball experts, franchises and fans took to social media to praise the four-time champion and league MVP, who is still going strong in his 21st year since he was drafted in 2003.
