Algeria duo Fares Chaibi and Mohamed Amoura were involved in the goals of Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League knockout playoff first leg 2-2 draw between Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Saint-Gilloise.
Both men were involved in Algeria’s poor outing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and Chaibi put the German side in front with a simple tap in in the third minute before assisting Sasa Kalajdzic for the second goal seven minutes later.
It took Chaibi’s tally in the Europa Conference League to seven goals involvements (two goals, five assists) this season.

Frankfurt were unable to hold on to their lead which allowed Union Saint-Gilloise to find their way back, starting with Amoura’s assist for Mathias Rasmussen’s goal in the 31st minute before Rasmussen assisted Gustaf Nilsson for the equaliser in the 68th minute.

Though USG were down to 10 men after Charles Vanhoutte received a second yellow card in the 78th minute, they were still able to hold on and avoid defeat heading into the second leg next Thursday.
