Senegal manager Aliou Cisse has called for his team to remain focused after they booked their spot at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-1 Group C over Cameroon on Friday.
Goals from Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diallo and Sadio Mane were more than enough to get the job done, making it the second consecutive game the Teranga Lions would score three goals after their 3-0 opening win over neighbours the Gambia.
Cisse also hailed his players for heeding to his tactical instructions which were instrumental to the victory.
“I congratulate the players because they played a great match. They respected my instructions and all the advice that I gave them,” Cisse said.
“There is the last match against Guinea in the round. We must remain focused. We have played two matches in the competition so far, and there are five remaining in order to reach the stated goal.”

Speaking on the game, goalscorer Sarr said: “I am happy with the victory over Cameroon. I remember that in 2017 we lost to Cameroon in the quarter-finals, and during this match we did everything to win. Now we will prepare for the next round in the competition.
“We were physically prepared for the match, and we live as one family in the national team, and this is what made us achieve the victory. We gave everything we had for this.”
Senegal will conclude their group campaign against Guinea on Tuesday.
