Yves Bissouma played his last game in 2023 after receiving a straight red card in Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Friday night.
The Lilywhites were off the back of a 4-1 win over Newcastle United last time out and scored in either half against Forest at the City Ground courtesy of Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.
Bissouma was however the highlight of the night with his high challenge on Ryan Yates resulting in a straight red card after a revision by VAR. It was the Mali midfielder’s second red card of the season having received two yellow cards in the narrow 1-0 win at Luton Town in October.

The 27-year-old will now serve a four-match ban which will effectively rule him out for the rest of 2023 with league games against Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Bournemouth to come during the Christmas holidays.
Bissouma will be back after the New Year but by then will be on international duty with Mali at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.
Tottenham’s victory took them level on 33 points with fourth-placed Manchester City will who host Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
