Ligue 1: Nigeria’s Moffi ends goal drought in OGC Nice victory

Terem Moffi brought a seven-game goal drought to an end as he scored the only goal of the game in OGC Nice’s 1-0 win over Toulouse in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon, moving them within a point of leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

The Eaglets lost their place at summit of the table after playing out a goalless draw at Montpellier which allowed PSG to take control.

The Parisians went four points clear after Friday’s 5-2 win over AS Monaco but Nice where able to get back to winning ways thanks to Moffi’s 54th minute strike off Morgan Sanson’s assist. It was his first goal since a 3-2 win away at PSG on September 15 and his fourth goal of the season.

Moffi will come against his countryman Moses Simon when Nice travel to Nantes next Saturday. Both men were involved with Super Eagles during the international break, featuring in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe which both ended 1-1.
