Premier League reveal fixture schedule for festive period

PL Preview: Arsenal gunning for maximum points, Chelsea and Spurs set for London Derby

Organisers of the Premier League have released its full fixture schedule list for the festive period, and for the first time since 1995, a match will be played on Christmas Eve.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will take on Chelsea at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday, December 24, with the game kicking off at 2 pm WAT. The match will be the first one played on that day for 28 years and it signals just the second time that a Premier League match has ever been played on that day.

A day before that, a blockbuster clash will unfold at Anfield when Liverpool face Arsenal on December 23. On the same day, Manchester United will visit the London Stadium to take on West Ham United in the early kick-off, while Tottenham will take on Everton in one of the other four games on that day.

Five matches will take place on Boxing Day, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle all in action. More matches will be played on December 27 and December 28, with London derbies between the Blues and Crystal Palace and Arsenal and West Ham.

All teams will have a chance to rest and recover from the back-to-back matches on December 29 before more games get under way the following day.

On New Year’s Eve, two matches will take place as Fulham and Arsenal face off in a London Derby at the Craven Cottage, while Tottenham will clash with Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

On Monday, January 1st, Newcastle will make a new year trip to Merseyside to face Liverpool at Anfield in a late fixture. West Ham and Brighton will go head-to-head on January 2, before the Premier League takes a break until January 13.
