French Ligue 1 club Brest have abruptly ended Noah Fadiga’s contract after the Senegal international was detected to have irregular heartbeat after the team’s medical test.
The 23-year-old is now a free agent and is not allowed to play in France until he is cleared medically.
Fadiga’s playing license is consequently revoked by the French Football Federation as a result of the FA’s zero-tolerance for cardiac issues.
The club statement read: “Stade Brestois is touched and saddened by its defender Noah Fadiga. Arrived last summer from the Heracles Almelo club (Netherlands), Noah participated in 21 games and scored one goal (Nantes-Brest) under the colours of Stade Brestois during the 22-23 exercise.
“The management and the whole club will do what is necessary to support Noah in the best conditions for the rest of his career.”
