Premier League leaders Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Leandro Trossard on a long-term contract from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Trossard moves to London after scoring seven goals in 16 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls this season. His addition comes as a boost for Mikel Arteta’s team who are aiming for their first top-flight crown since 2004.
The 28-year-old was part of the Belgium squad that played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and he has 24 games under his belt.
Trossard started his football career in Genk before moving to Brighton in June 2019 where he played over 120 games.

He has hit the ground running by joining the Gunners’ training session on Friday ahead of their Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Sunday.
In his first interview, Trossard who will wear the no. 19 shirt told the club’s website: āThis is a big club and Iām ready to show the fans what I can do. Everyone has seen how well weāre doing already and Iām here to help achieve their dreams – including myself.
āIām going to take it day by day, work hard and try to help the team to achieve their goals. [I want to] get better as well. I know the manager is a great coach and I hope to be involved in doing great things and getting better as a player in every aspect.
āIām really excited to see the fans in the stadium. I hope I can give you my all. I want to try and create as many magic moments as possible, and hopefully we can celebrate together.ā
