Lesotho moved to the top of Group C in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers following their 2-0 win over Zimbabwe at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday afternoon.
The Crocodiles had picked up two points in their opening two games against Benin and Nigeria but were clearly in the winning mood when Rethabile Rasethuntsa put them in front against the Zimbabweans in the 21st minute thanks to Thabo Matsoele’s assist.
Lesotho would go on to double their lead 10 minutes later, this time Lehlohonolo Fothoane turning provider for Jane Thaba Ntso to put the ball in the back of the net.
We try again next time

The victory puts Lesotho in temporary pole position in Group C with five points after three games and are one point ahead of Benin who defeated Rwanda 1-0 on Thursday night.
The result puts pressure on South Africa and Nigeria who have three and two points respectively and will go head-to-head at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo later in the evening.
Zimbabwe meanwhile are bottom of Group C with just two points like Nigeria but with a goal differential of -2.
