Jordan Ayew scored a hat-trick on his 100th cap for the Ghana national team as they defeated Central African Republic in an entertaining 4-3 win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Monday night.
The Crystal Palace forward put the Black Stars ahead from the penalty spot in the sixth minute however the Central Africans went 2-1 up at halftime thanks to Louis Mafouta’s brace.

Ghana were not let down by their deficit and bounced back in the second half thanks to Sporting Lisbon Issahaku Fatawu and Ayew completing his hat-trick.
Mafouta completed his own hat-trick for the Central Africans in the 90th minute.
The victory sent Ghana three points clear at the top of Group I.

In other results on Monday night, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone played out a 2-2 Group A draw in Bamako while Mozambique defeated Guinea 1-0 to go joint top in Group G with Algeria.
