2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Ivory Coast maintain perfect start with victory over The Gambia

Ivory Coast manager Emerse Fae has named his 26-man squad for the Elephants’ upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Gabon and Kenya on June 7 and June 11 respectively.

The current Africa Cup of Nations champions will be eager to maintain their impressive form from Fae took charge during the AFCON tournament on home soil and has retained the core of the squad that achieved success, including Champions League finalist Sebastien Haller, Hull City midfielder Jean Michael Seri and AS Roma defender Evan Ndicka.

There is however no place for Manchester United winger Amad Diallo despite his impressive form of late. There was also no place for Nottingham Forest defender fullback Serge Aurier and Galatasaray winger Wilfried Zaha.

Some of the new faces include Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande who previously represented Ghana but has chosen to represent the Ivory Coast.

Goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare, who plays for South Africa’s Sekhukhune United, has also been included.
