2026 WCQ: Lookman, Troost-Ekong in Kigali as Super Eagles camp swells to 22 players

Atalanta forward and reigning African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman, as well as captain William Troost-Ekong, have arrived in the Super Eagles camp ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda, Afrosport reports.

Lookman and Troost-Ekong lead a list of 10 players who touched down at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Kigali on Tuesday, taking the number of players in camp to 22.

Six players arrived in camp late on Monday, with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, and the Belgium-based duo of Raphael Onyedika and Jordan Torunarigha welcomed by head coach Eric Chelle.

Meanwhile, 10 new faces, including Lookman, Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Joseph Aribo, Igoh Ogbu, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Umar Sadiq, arrived in the early hours of Tuesday.

Only US-based Alhassan Yusuf is missing from the Super Eagles camp, with Chelle expected to hold his first training session later in the day.

The Super Eagles will take on the Amavubi of Rwanda on Friday, March 21, before heading back home to take on Zimbabwe in Uyo four days later.
