FIFA has confirmed Egypt’s Amin Mohamed Omar as the centre referee for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Benin Republic, Afrosport reports.
Omar will lead an all-Egyptian officiating crew, while Ghana’s Prosper Addo has been appointed as the Match Commissioner.
The fixture is scheduled for Tuesday, 14 October 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, four days after Nigeria has played on Lesotho.

Both Nigeria and Gernot Rohr’s Benin’s are battling for top spot in Group C with only two games left in the qualifiers.
Following FIFA’s recent sanction against South Africa, Benin currently lead the way with 14 points from eight matches, while the Super Eagles trail in third place on 11 points from the same number of fixtures.
