The Falconets of Nigeria began their 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign on a strong note with a 1-0 Group D win over South Korea in Bogota in the early hours of Monday morning, Afrosport reports.
Very little separated the two sides that created a host of chances at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo.
However, the deadlock was broken in the 86th minute when Flourish Sabastine’s audacious cross from the edge of the penalty area found its way into the back of the net.

The result gives Christopher Danjuma’s ladies a good start in Colombia, knowing that victory over Germany in their next match will see them through to the knockout phase.
