Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has retained her crown as Africa’s best shot-stopper, having been named the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year at the 2024 CAF Awards on Monday.
Nnadozie claims the award for a second straight year, fending off competition from Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South African goalie Andile Dlamini.

The Nigerian has unarguably shown her class as the continent’s best, making superb saves and putting up brilliant performances for both Nigeria and her French club, Paris FC.
The Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award went to South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, who shone at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), helping Bafana Bafana finish third in the competition.

Williams achieved history at the AFCON in Ivory Coast, as his heroics especially in the penalty shootouts guided South Africa to their second-ever bronze medal at the continental Mundial.
The 32-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper scooped two accolades at the 2024 CAF Awards as he was also named the Men’s Interclub Player of the Year, while Sanaa Mssoudy, who plies her trade with AS FAR won the award in the women’s category.
AFCON 2023-winning manager Emerse Fae picked up the Men’s Coach of the Year award for his his part in leading Ivory Coast to their third title.

Lamia Boumehdi, who guided TP Mazembe to their first-ever Women’s CAF Champions League title was named the Coach of the Year in the women’s category.
