World Athletics Championships: Ofili & Akintola qualify for women’s & men’s 200m semis

Tobi Amusan qualified for the women’s 100m hurdles final at the 2023 World Athletics Championships on Wednesday but Nigerians are far from happy with her starting.

Amusan made a poor start in her semi-final race this evening but managed to beat Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent of Jamaica in the final 10 metres of the race with a time of 12.56 seconds.

In the quest for the women’s 100m hurdles world title, the world record holder faces stern competition from Jasmine Camacho-Quin of Puerto Rico and Kendra Harrison of USA who clocked 12.41s and 12.33s respectively, in their semi-final race.
