Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has expressed his gratitude to Nigerians following the team’s promising start to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.
The 11-time African champions held Canada to a goalless draw in their Group B opener in Melbourne on Friday morning.
Next up for Nigeria is another group fixture against co-host Australia who sit atop of Group B on Thursday, and Waldrum is hoping fans do not stop backing his team for glory.
“Keep supporting us, we appreciate the support, all the messages I’ve gotten back home in Nigeria as well as Nigerians here in Australia. They have been of great support. Just keep sending positive vibes to the team because we are in this all together.”

The Super Falcons have arrived back in Brisbane for their next matches and Waldrum has disclosed that they will be having training sessions in the evenings.
“We will be training in the evening since our next two matches will be late in the evenings, 8pm (local time) so we will see how that goes.”
