West Ham United have decided to dismiss Julien Lopetegui after just six months after the team has been unable to provide decent results since his appointment last summer, Afrosport reports.
Lopetegui joined the London club in July but failed to create a positive impression for himself.
The Hammers have won seven, lost 10 and drew five of their 22 matches so far this season which was not enough for the club’s hierarchy after acquiring the signature of ten players last summer.
“West Ham United can confirm that Head Coach Julen Lopetegui has today left the Club,” the Premier League side announced in a statement.
“The first half of the 2024/25 season has not aligned with the club’s ambitions and the club has therefore taken action in line with its objectives.
Furthermore, the 58-year-old was not the only one sent parking as his team is also meant to leave with immediate effect too.
“The club can confirm that Assistant Head Coach Pablo Sanz, Head of Performance Oscar Caro, Head Analyst Juan Vicente Peinado, Fitness Coach Borja De Alba and Technical Coach Edu Rubio have also left with immediate effect,” the statement continued.
“The Board would like to thank Julen and his staff for their hard work during their time with the Hammers and wish them every success for the future.”

Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter is linked as the next replacement according to reports although no name has been confirmed yet.
As the Hammers seek a temporary or permanent solution, they will be traveling to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa on Friday in the FA Cup third round.
