Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has allegedly denied head coach Enzo Maresca’s statement of him possibly being out of the season, stating that he will be back in 4-6 weeks time, Afrosport reports.
Since Joining Chelsea, Fofana has not been able to get a proper run of games due to injury as he was also missed the entire 2023-24 season due to an anterior cruciate surgery during pre season.
Maresca confirmed during a press conference on Friday that the Frenchman might not feature for the London side this season again.
However, the 24-year-old has seemingly denied this on Instagram which has gone viral into the internet.
“It’s not true,I’m not out of the season I don’t know why he [Maresca] said that I will be back in 4-6 weeks,” read the reply of a Fofana fan account on Instagram.
Fofana had a decent start to the season as he was a rock in the heart of Chelsea’s defense before his injury re-occurred.
