Warriors star Curry to spend next few weeks on sidelines

The Golden State Warriors will be without superstar guard Stephen Curry for the coming weeks after he picked up a shoulder injury.

The 34-year-old picked up the shoulder injury while trying to defend against Indiana Pacers forward Jalen Smith on Wednesday.

The eight-time All-Star was injured with about two minutes left in the third quarter, with the Warriors trying to rally from a 20-point halftime deficit. Curry subsequently walked to the locker room during the next timeout and did not return to the game.

According to reports, the two-time MVP experienced a left shoulder subluxation after undergoing an MRI, and an update on his return will be provided soon.

Curry finished with 38 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in the Warriors’ 125-119 loss to the Pacers.

With the defending champions’ recent struggles, losing Curry for the next few weeks may be detrimental to their playoff push.

The Warriors, currently 10th in the Western Conference with 14 wins and 15 losses, are particularly disappointing on the road with just two wins this season.
