Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera has agreed personal terms with Premier League side Arsenal as a formal transfer draws nearer, Afrosport reports.
The Gunners have been in talks with the 21-year-old Spaniard of Colombian heritage and are looking to make him an addition to the central defensive options alongside the first-choice pairing of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
He is equally adept playing at right-back and can fill the gap left by Takehiro Tomiyasu, who mutually terminated his contract.
Mosquera has made 90 appearances for Valencia since the 2021-22 season, 82 of them coming in La Liga, including playing the full 90 minutes in 37 of 38 league matches last season.
Arsenal have been very active during the summer transfer window and have already signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, and Christian Norgaard from Brentford.
The North London giants are also close to completing a deal for Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, as well as Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
