Usain Bolt sad Ronaldo left Man Utd

Eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt is unhappy Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer at Manchester United.

The 37-year-old Portuguese superstar had his contract terminated after granting an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in November, where he criticised those within the club hierarchy he claims disrespected and betrayed him.

Ronaldo is now a free agent and Bolt highlighted his importance to the Red Devils who struggled to impress last season and ultimately finished sixth in the Premier League, Ronaldo netted 18 goals which was the fifth-highest in the English top flight.

“It’s sad to see him go,” Bolt was quoted in Eurosport. “He played such an important role for us last season. He kept us in the Premier League last season. Because many games he was the one he scored, kept giving us points.

“So it is sad to see him going but I understand by listening to his interview there is a lot going on that a lot of us don’t know.

“So I wish him all the best on his journey because I am a massive Cristiano Ronaldo fan. So it is sad to see him gone.”

In the wake of Ronaldo’s exit, the Glazer family who control club have hinted they are open to selling the club to a new investor, development which Bolt agrees with.

“For me, it has been long time waiting for the fans,” the world’s fastest man continued.

“The fans have spoken about this for years. After Alex Ferguson, the club has been up and down, as we’ve seen Cristiano came out and spoke about a few things and it surprised me as a supporter to know that the club hasn’t really moved on technology-wise to try to improve and to help the players to move forward.

“So, to get new owners hopefully they’ll come in and develop the club in a way that is necessary.”

Prior to the World Cup, Manchester United sit in fifth place in the Premier League, three points away from the top four.
