Manchester United will face Real Sociedad in the round of 16 of the Europa League (UEL) following Friday’s draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, Afrosport reports.
The Red Devils previously faced the Spanish side during the round of 32 during the 2020-21 season when they went on to reach the final but lost on penalties to Villarreal.
They also faced each other in the group phase during the 2021-22 campaign with both sides claiming 1-0 wins away from home.
Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou’s quest for silverware continues as Tottenham Hotspur take on AZ Alkmaar who knocked out Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray in the playoffs.

Other round of 16 fixtures will see Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce take on Rangers while Roma faces Athletic Bilbao and FCSB take on Olympique Lyon.
Dutch giants Ajax will also be up against Eintracht Frankfurt, Bodo/Glimt will battle Olympiacos and Lazio face Viktoria Plzen.
