Super Eagles and Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman says his side are prepared as they face Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night, Afrosport reports.
The 26-year-old famously scored a hat-trick in last season’s 3-0 Europa League final victory against Bayer Leverkusen , ending the German side’s 51-game competitive unbeaten run while landing the Italian side their first-ever European title.
Madrid meanwhile defeated other German side in Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in Champions League final and win their record-extending 15th premier European title.
Los Blancos have parted with some iconic names such as Nacho Fernandez and Toni Kroos but have beefed up their attack with the addition of bringing Kylian Mbappe and Enrdrick.
Despite the array of talent at the disposal of manager Carlo Ancelotti, Lookman remains confident that his side have the ability to contain Madrid’s threat.
“Wonderful, these are the games you want to play since you were a child. Finally the moment has come, we won the Europa League and we will now play for another trophy,” he said as per Tribal Football.
“We can’t wait, we are preparing with obsessive attention. So yes, we will be ready!
“We don’t need great motivation, we will face a top team and it’s an appointment with history. They are the greatest team in the world in football, it will be an exciting chapter, an exciting opportunity for everyone. We can’t wait to hear it.”

Lookma scored a total of 17 goals and provided 10 assists in 45 competitive games during the 2023-24 season as Atalanta fished fourth in the Italian Serie and reached the Coppa Italia final.
