Jadon Sancho provided two assists as Chelsea defeated Legia Warsaw 3-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League quarter-finals on Thursday, Afrosport reports.
The first half at the Polish Army Stadium was a cagey affair with the Blues having just two shots and an xG of 0.51 despite having 76% of ball possession.
The game came alive in the second half with Chelsea captain setting up Tyrique George, of Nigerian and Ghanaian heritage, in the 49th minute for his first goals for the club.
Their lead was extended in the 57th minute when Sancho thread the ball for Noni Madueke to finish off.
The Manchester United loanee set up his English teammate again in the 74th minute to put the game beyond doubt.
Not long before the third goal, Christopher Nkunku, of Congolese heritage, missed from the spot after Legia goalkeeper Kacper Tobiasz saved the effort, denying him his sixth Conference League goal of the season.

Meanwhile for Sancho, it was his first goal involvements in the European third tier competition, and took his overall assist tally in all competitions to seven, four more than his previous two seasons combined while at Man United.
