Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has called for the support of star forward Kylian Mbappe after his subpar showing against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, Afrosport reports.
The Frenchman missed a penalty at Anfield as Los Blancos lost 2-0 which sees them sitting in 24th place and in danger of getting eliminated from the competition.
It has been a mixed start to life for Mbappe since he joined Madrid on a free transfer in the summer, and while questions have been raised on his effectiveness, Ancelotti believes he will be soon be at his consistent best.
“…I think forwards, when you’re a striker you want to score to get that bit of confidence. You get a bit disappointed in yourself when you don’t do that, the Italian tactician said.
“I think that there’s a medicine which is that it’s a difficult moment for him. I think it’s difficult for Mbappe, we’ve got to support him, we’ve got to give him our support and our love. He’ll soon be fine.”
