Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were in seventh heaven on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes as they completed a 7-0 rout of Brest to reach the UEFA Champions League round of 16, Afrosport reports.
Seven different players got on the scoresheet as Luis Enrique’s men were ruthless in front of goal, killing any thoughts of a possible comeback for Brest.
The French champions dispatched their domestic rivals 10-0 on aggregate to win their knockout phase play-off and set up a last 16 clash against one of Liverpool or Barcelona.

French international Bradley Barcola opened the scoring in the 20th minute with his third Champions League goal of the season. The young forward maintained his composure in the box to coolly slot home the opener after getting on the end of a brilliant pass from Fabian Ruiz.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened his competition account for PSG with the French side’s second of the game in the 39th minute. The Georgian finished expertly at the far post after an initial mishit from Barcola.
Vitinha, who scored the opener in the first leg in Brittany last week, got on the scoresheet with a beautiful curling effort into the far corner, with Ruiz providing the assist once again.
PSG got their fourth through the boots of Desire Doue, who slotted the ball into an empty net after fine play by Goncalo Ramos, before Portuguese fullback Nuno Mendes made it five with a simple tap-in at the back post.
Ramos made it six in the 76th minute with Doue returning the favour, while 18-year-old French midfielder Senny Mayulu completed the rout with his 86th-minute strike from inside the box.
The result marked a historic night for PSG as the Ligue 1 leaders recorded their biggest win in Europe and the biggest win by a French team since Marseille in the 2010-11 season.
They also became the first team in the history of the Champions League to have seven different scorers in a single match.
