Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is confident his team can thrive without Jamal Musiala as they prepare to face Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday night, Afrosport reports.
The 22-year-old will miss the tie at the Allianz Arena after picking up a muscle injury in Saturday’s 3-1 Bundesliga win away at Augsburg.
Musiala has been an integral part of the Bayern squad under Kompany with 18 goals and eight assists in 40 competitive games.
“We’ve played without Jamal [Musiala] before and all the options this season because we’re not at the beginning of the season anymore,” Kompany said.
“We’re almost at the end now, which means they can look back and they’ll find all the solutions and creative solutions that we have at our disposal. But for me, it’s all about what we need for the game.
“What’s needed there will never be a situation where we substitute one-on-one. No way, you can’t do that with a talent like that. But we’ve said that in the past as well. If a player plays in a game, we want him to be brought up to strength so that he can perform.”

Bayern will be aiming to reach back-to-back Champions League semi-finals having not gone past the quarter-finals for three consecutive seasons after winning the title in 2020.
