Barcelona were a class apart as they thumped Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night, Afrosport reports.
It was the second meeting between both sides in this season’s competition having met during the league phase, with the Catalan giants triumphing 3-2 at Signal Iduna Park.
Brazilian winger Raphinha put them in front in the 25th minute before former Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski netted a brace in the 48th and 66th minute.
Raphinha then set up teenage sensation Lamine Yamal for the final goal in the 77th minute.
The victory ensured Barcelona remained unbeaten in all competitions so far in 2025, winning 19 games and drawing four.
It is now their best start to a year in their history, surpassing the feat of 2016 when they went 22 games unbeaten (W19 D3).
