Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has confirmed that Pau Cubarsi is fine after he was kicked in the face in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League tie at Red Star Belgrade which required 10 stitches, Afrosport reports.
The youngster was taken off in the 67th minute of Barca’s 5-2 thrashing against the Serbian side after he was caught by Uros Spajic’s studs as he defended a set piece.
Cubarsi received immediate medical attention as his face was filled with spots and openings of blood and was eventually taken off.
Flick said after the game: “He needed stitches, but he’s fine.”

Cubarsi has been fantastic this season having featured in 12 matches, starting 11 of them, he has also kept four clean sheets for the Spanish giants.
Barcelona, will be taking on Real sociedad on Sunday as they look to stretch their nine-point lead over fierce rivals Real Madrid in the standings.
