Guinea U-23 manager Morlaye Cisse says his team are going all out for victory as they prepare to take on Ghana in their final 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Group A game on Friday night.
Both the Syl Nationale and Black Meteors are tied on three points each, however the Guineans have the advantage by virtue of a superior goal difference.
Regardless of that, Cisse is not keen to get a draw in the game which will be enough to seal their progress to the semi-finals alongside hosts Morocco.
“We will not settle for a draw,” Cisse said ahead of the game.
“We have great respect for the Ghana team, but we possess the necessary qualities to secure a victory against them because our objective is to qualify for the Olympics.”
Ghana meanwhile need to defeat Guinea to make it to the semis and coach Ibrahim Tanko is confident they can be victorious at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier
“We understand that we must emerge victorious to qualify for the semi-finals,” Tanko stated.
“We have bounced back from the defeat against Egypt and are now focused on securing a victory.
“Our primary objective is to qualify for the Olympics.”
