U20 World Cup: Flying Eagles depart for Argentina

U-20 AFCON: CAF appoints Libyan referee for Nigeria and Gambia clash

The Flying Eagles have left Abuja today for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup that starts later this month in Argentina.

Ladan Bosso led his team of 21 players and technical crew to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and they will be camped in Argentina until the tournament starts in a fortnight.

The U20 World Cup will start on May 20 and run through till June 11 across four Argentine cities.

Nigeria are pitched in Group D against Brazil, Dominican Republic and Italy as they look to surpass their best finish as runners-up in the 1989 and 2005 editions.

The Flying Eagles are scheduled to begin their campaign against Dominican Republic on May 21.

They qualified for the biennial football showpiece after finishing third at the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations back in March.
