Flying Eagles manager Aliu Zubairu is confident his team can defeat Ghana ahead of the WAFU B U-20 championship final on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
Nigeria will be looking to keep their status as king of the region once again having won the previous one. This tie is known for its intense rivalry and the emotions that comes with it.
“Ghana are a good team, but they are not fast. They don’t play with high intensity, Zubairu said.
“We are also aware of the rivalry with Ghana at any level. We have grown in this tournament we have improved with each match.
“We have prepared we are going all out as defending champions we want to retain our title.”
The defending champions did not start the competition on a positive note after suffering a defeat to Burkina Faso on the opening day.
They however had to buckle up which was followed by consecutive 2-1 and 3-1 victories to Ivory Coast and Niger Republic respectively.
