The Black Satellites took an early lead thanks to a strike from Jerry Afriyie in the 14th minute, but Benin responded with two goals from Modeste Konoudji (27’) and Gabriel Moulero (41’).

However, with time winding down, Afriyie scored a late penalty to secure a point for the Ghanaians.
