Head coach of Nigeria’s under-20 men’s team, Aliyu Zubairu, has named a 35-man squad for the final training camp ahead of the 2025 under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Afrosport reports.
The Flying Eagles camp in Abuja opened on Monday, with Zubairu’s invitees comprising players who featured at the WAFU B U-20 Championship held in Togo last year.
Team captain Daniel Bameyi headlines the squad, which also has the likes of Ebenezer Harcourt, Adamu Maigari, Kenneth Igbokwe, and Sabiu Mohammed.
Also included are Sulaiman ‘Jojo’ Alabi, Nasiru Salihu, Oliseh Divine, Bidemi Amole, and Clinton Jephta.
Seven foreign-based players have also been called up to join the camp. They include goalkeeper Soliu Ajia (FK Novi Pazar), Emmanuel Chukwu, Benjamin Precious (Hoffenheim), Caleb Ochedikwu (NK Ujanik), Ibrahim Alam (Real Valladolid), Israel Ayuma (NK Istra), and Umar Abubakar (KAA Gent).
The Flying Eagles have been drawn in Group B of the U20 AFCON alongside hosts Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa.
