Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles overcame Congo-Brazzaville with a 2-1 win in a friendly match on Sunday.
The game played at the Complexe Sportif Sidi Mohammed in Casablanca, was another match played by Ladan Bosso’s boys as they continue their preparations ahead of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Onianhue Salomon put the Congolese ahead in the 21 minutes despite the Flying Eagles dominating proceedings early on.
Emmanuel Uchegbu drew Nigeria level with a solo effort six minutes after the hour mark, while Adams Olamilekan completed the comeback eight minutes later.
The Flying Eagles will play a second warm-up game against the Central African Republic on Wednesday.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group A along with hosts Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique, while Congo Brazzaville are in Group B with the Central African Republic, Uganda, and South Sudan.
The U-20 AFCON will begin on February 19 with Egypt taking on Mozambique while the other fixture of the day will see the Flying Eagles battle it out against the Young Lions of Teranga [Senegal].
On Friday, head coach Bosso released his final 21-man shortlist for the tournament as the Flying Eagles look to win Nigeria’s eighth title at the continental competition.
