Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso has invited 35 players for training ahead of the 17th edition of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The 35 youngsters are expected to resume camping in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja on Monday as the country gears up for a possible eighth title.
Record holders Nigeria will lock horns with host nation, Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique in Group A after securing qualification with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Ivory Coast in the WAFU-Zone B qualifiers.
The AFCON U-20 will take place in the Egyptian cities of Cairo, Alexandria, and Ismailia from February 19 through March 11.
The last four teams will gain automatic qualification to represent Africa at this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia.
Notable names on the list include Olympic Eagles shot-stopper Nathaniel Nwosu, Dakkada FC midfielder Daniel Daga and forward Promise Bernard, who plies his trade in Pakistan with Fame Football Club.
