Nigeria U17 women’s coach, Bankole Olowookere has included 19 players from the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) in his 25-woman squad for next month’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Burkina Faso.
The West African countries lock horns for the first leg of the penultimate qualifying round in Ouagadougou on May 12 before returning to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja for the second leg scheduled for May 18.
The Flamingos reached the third round of the African qualifiers after humiliating the Central African Republic 12-0 over two legs.
Olowookere’s team has four goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders and seven forwards.
Nigeria are aiming to qualify for the U17 Women’s World Cup that will take place in the Dominican Republic in October after winning bronze at the last edition of the tournament in India.
