Nigeria and South Africa will battle for the second spot in Group B of the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.
Two-time champions Nigeria head into Saturday’s encounter, level on three points with the Amajimbos but they are placed second based on their goal difference.
What is at stake?
A draw is enough for both Nigeria and South Africa to advance to the quarter-final either as Group B runners-up or as one of the best third-placed teams.
Meanwhile, a win will automatically guarantee either of the team’s qualification while the loser awaits the result of Group C match between Burkina Faso and Cameroon on Sunday night.
For the quarter-final pairing, the second-placed team in Group B will face Group C runners-up while the third-best team from Group B or Group C will face Group A winners, Senegal who have scored seven goals without conceding in the tournament.
