U17 AFCON: All you need to know and how to watch in Nigeria

The 15th edition of the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations will take place from April 29 to May 19, 2023.

12 countries, including host nation Algeria and defending champions Cameroon, will compete for glory across three Algerian cities (Algiers, Annaba and Constantine).

Somalia and South Sudan are the only two debutants in the competition this year after battling each other in the final of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) regional qualifiers in 2022 while Cameroon, Nigeria and Mali will be looking to extend their dominance in the competition with a third title.

In addition to the quest for glory in Algeria, the best four teams who qualify for the semi-final will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup later in November.

How to watch and stream online

Afrosport TV will be showing all U17 AFCON matches to millions of households on channel 730, Free TV and with support from its broadcast partners across the 36 states and the FCT.

All matches from the tournament can also be streamed online through Afrosport TV digital platforms. VIDIVU TV – mw.vidivu.tv/s/496423 while Afrosport TV’s Facebook and TikTok accounts will only stream all Nigeria’s games LIVE.

Group A: Algeria, Senegal, Congo and Somalia

Group B: Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Morocco

Group C: Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso and South Sudan.

Nigeria vs Zambia – Sunday, April 30 (5pm).

Nigeria vs Morocco – Wednesday, May 3 (5pm).

South Africa vs Nigeria – Saturday, May 6 (8pm).
