U-23 AFCON: Officials confirmed for Nigeria vs Guinea double-header

U-23 AFCON Qualifiers: Olympic Eagles to host Guinea in Abuja

The Confederation of African Football has announced the list of match officials for the double-header between Nigeria and Guinea in the final qualifying round of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

The African football governing body has assigned Sudanese officials to be in charge during the first leg of the tie scheduled for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on March 22.

38-year-old Sabri Mohamed Fadul has been appointed as centre- referee while his compatriots Abdelgabar Mohamed Abdelgabar and Ahmed Subahi have been selected as assistant referees 1 and 2, respectively.

Also, South Sudan’s Ring Akech Malong will be the fourth official, and Munkaila Nassam Adam of Ghana will be the match commissioner.

The crucial clash between the Olympic Eagles and their Guinean counterpart will kick off at 4pm, and it will provide them with the opportunity to command an early lead before the second leg in Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, on March 27.

Furthermore, CAF has appointed officials from the Democratic Republic of Congo for the second leg, which will be played at the Complexe Sportif Prince Heritier Moulay Al Hassan at 7pm.

Yannick Malala Kabanga will be the referee, and will be supported by his fellow countrymen Guylain Ngila, Rambo Neushiye and Tanguy Lopembe Tangi, who have been appointed as the assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and fourth official, respectively.

Mr. Boussairi Boujlel from Tunisia will be the match commissioner.

The winner of the two-legged clash will book a place in the U-23 AFCON scheduled for Morocco from November 2–26, with the competition also serving as the qualification process for Africa’s representatives at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
