Gambia Under-20 manager Abdoulie Bojang has revealed he is not getting carried away by his team’s excellent start to the U-20 Africa cup of nations, following their 2-0 win over Zambia on Friday.
The win against the Junior Chipolopolos helped the Young Scorpions seal their progress to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Goals from Kajally Drammeh and Alagie Saine were more than enough to get the job done for their second win after their opening 1-0 win over Tunisia, thereby sending them to the top of Group C.
The West Africans complete their group phase campaign against regional side Benin on Monday, and Bojang has turned his attention to getting a result in that game.
“We will celebrate the win but just for tonight,” Bojang said on the CAF website. “We cannot be too excited because we are not yet done with our mission here.
“We have a complete team and a lot of tactical work has been done to prepare everyone to compete.
“We take it game by game. We enjoy the moment and then leave it behind us to focus on the next challenge.”

The battle for the remaining qualification spots in Group C is very tight with just one point between Benin, Tunisia and Zambia.
