Leandro Trossard has his sights set on Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg tie with Real Madrid after scoring in Saturday’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Everton, Afrosport reports.
The Belgian forward put the Gunners ahead in the first half at Goodison Park before Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye levelled for the Toffees in the second half.
Arsenal have slim hopes of winning the league with 11 points separating them from leaders Liverpool with seven games left to play.
The Champions League thus represents the North London side’s only genuine chance of winning silverware but will have it all to do against the reigning European champions.
“I’m very excited, it’s a big game for us,” Trossard said. “I think everyone is up for it, not just us as players, but the fans as well. I think, and I hope, the atmosphere will be electric because that’s what we need. We know how they are – they have the most Champions League wins in history, so we know what we’re up again.
“I hope the atmosphere will be electric because we’re going to need it. The first game is at home, so hopefully we can have an advantage there. If they are electric, that gives us adrenaline and that’s what we need.”

Arsenal will be meeting Real Madrid for the first time since the 2005-06 season when they met in Champions League round of 16, winning 1-0 on aggregate.
The Gunners went on to reach the final but lost 2-1 to Barcelona in Paris.
