Tottenham midfielder Bentancur out for two weeks after suffering concussion against Liverpool

FA Cup: Darren Ferguson defends decision not to play Tyler Young against his father

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Rodrigo Bentancur will be unavailable for two weeks after suffering a concussion during his side’s 1-0 win over Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.

Bentancur collapsed without coming in contact with anyone as he went down to challenge for the ball during a corner kick.

The Uruguayan received oxygen and was taken to the hospital after the match.

Postecoglou confirmed that the Uruguay international will miss the next four games as they want to observe the Premier League concussion protocols.

“All good. He’s back home and he’s fine. He is feeling good,” Postecoglou said per BBC Sport.

“Thankfully, it looks like a concussion and nothing more than it.

“Obviously, you follow the protocols now and it’s a couple of weeks where you have to make sure everything is okay.”

Spurs will be facing Tamworth in the FA Cup on Sunday before travelling to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal next Wednesday.
