Tottenham Hotspur will be without goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario for an extended period after the Italian underwent surgery for a fractured ankle, Afrosport reports.
Despite playing the full 90 minutes, Vicario reportedly suffered the ankle injury in their 4-0 thumping of champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Spurs on Monday announced that the 28-year-old Italy international has undergone successful surgery to repair the injury, but the London club did not state how long he will be sidelined for.
“We can confirm that Guglielmo Vicario has today undergone surgery for a fracture of his right ankle,” Spurs wrote in a statement on X.
“Guglielmo will be assessed by our medical staff to determine when he can return to training. We’re all behind you, Vic.”

Spurs, who are sixth in the Premier League standings with 19 points, host AS Roma in the Europa League on Thursday before hosting Fulham in the league on Sunday, December 1.
