Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a £20,000 fine by the Football Association (FA) for their part in the London derby scuffle against West Ham United on Saturday, Afrosport reports.
Both Spurs and Tottenham were charged by the FA on Tuesday with failing to control their players as they failed to “ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way”.
The scuffle occurred when Kudus pushed midfielder Spur players Micky Van de Ven and Pepe Matar Sarr in the face, leading to the Ghanaian receiving a red card after a VAR upgrade.
Spurs, however, have accepted the charge, and also agreed to pay the fine for the clash that occurred during the weekend’s game.
“Tottenham Hotspur have been fined £20,000 following their Premier League match against West Ham,” an FA statement read.
“It was alleged that the club failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 82nd minute. Tottenham admitted to this charge and accepted the standard penalty.”
It is left to see what the punishment will be for West Ham and Kudus, who was also charged, as the Ghana international will be unavailable for three matches as initial punishment for his misconduct.
The Hammers and Kudus have until Thursday to prepare a suitable reply.
