Tottenham boss Postecoglou provides update on Solanke injury

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on the injury of Dominic Solanke, Afrosport reports.

The England forward of Nigerian heritage was taken off in discomfort after coming on in the final 20 minutes of Spurs’ 1-0 loss at AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League round of 16 first leg on Thursday.

It was a setback for Solanke who just returned from a knee injury that saw him out of action for seven weeks.

Postecoglou revealed that the 27-year-old has relapsed with the same knee injury and will be out of action for this weekend’s Premier League tie against his former club, Bournemouth.

“No, too early to tell. With Dom, I think he got a knee to the backside so it’s probably a bit sore. It’s a knock so hopefully, it settles down quickly,” the Australian tactician said.

Solanke joined Tottenham from Bournemouth last summer in a £65 million deal and has scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 30 competitive appearances this season.
