Plymouth Argyle new acquisition, Tijani Muhamed, has set a target of scoring 20 or more goals in the upcoming 2024-25 Championship season.
The lanky forward recently completed a loan move from Czech Republic giants Slavia Prague to the English second tier side, with an option of a permanent move.
In an interview with OJB Sports, the 6ft 4 tall player said it is pertinent to hit the ground running in his new environment, adding that he knows exactly what it means to play in England.
“I’m not under pressure because I am willing to play and deliver for them and for myself as well. They should just get ready for goals. My target is to score like 20 plus goals,” he said.
Tijani Muhamed also revealed that Plymouth manager Wayne Rooney influenced his move to England.
“He’s a football legend, not only in England but in the whole world. He plays as a striker also, so I think it’s a good move for me, that’s why I took it,” he added.
“He really influenced the move because when he called I was like ‘Who’s calling? It’s Wayne Rooney.’ I was shocked. I had to ask my agent ‘Are you sure it’s him?’ He said: ‘Yeah, it’s him, of course, just take the call’. Then we spoke, it was very good.”
The 36 Lions FC product scored four goals in nine appearances for Slavia Prague last season.
The former Flying Eagles striker has featured for Czech clubs Banik O Strava, Trinec, Karvina, and Taborsko in the past.
